Recently, the other short person in our house began stealing my stool! He wants to be able to reach things on the counter, brush his teeth in the mirror and turn on and off lights. When I need the stool, he gets very upset. Either Reed needs to grow up quickly (which I do not want) or we needed another stool.
My weekly pilgrimage to Michael’s proved to be quite fruitful because I came across an unfinished pine step stool! Perfect! Since I still had some blue pain left over from my Mommy Timeout Chair, I decided to use it as a base and add a dinosaur.
I started with applying three coats of paint and allowing it to dry overnight.
Using my Cameo, I cut out a dinosaur stencil and painted it.
I did the same with his name to personalize the stool. (Now he knows which is his and which is Mommy’s!)
Once you remove the stencil, touch up any areas where the paint bled through.
This stool has scored me major Mom points! Since finishing it, Reed carries it from room to room. He keeps saying, “I yuv my tool!!” (That’s Reed-speak for “I love my stool!”)
